The Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) is the largest not-for-profit corporation in the county for gay and lesbian businesses. With membership of close to 700 companies and 1,300 individuals, the Chamber's mission is to promote a unified and thriving, gay and gay-friendly, business and professional community throughout Miami-Dade County.
Since one of our goals is to promote networking within the existing gay and gay-friendly business and professional community, we incorporate in all of our events components that allow those in attendance to connect, engage and interact with each other with the hope that this translates into business opportunities. Networking is not a science and following these fours tips could be of great benefit and value before you enter a room full of potential clients:
Bring plenty of business cards and set goals of what you want to accomplish. This can be as simple as identify 4 new prospects or meet 12 new people.
Practice your Introduction
Practice your 30-second intro. to capture your audience’s attention, present who you are, what you do and the value of your product or services.
Engage your Audience
Target companies & individuals who have a need for your products or services, take the initiative to personally meet them or ask others to assist with introductions.
Organize your contacts using a spreadsheet or Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) sending an e-mail, making a phone call or connecting through social media.
We invite you to put these tips into practice attending our next EXPOsure Networking Luncheon entitled “Digital Media Strategies for Brand Growth.” This engaging event will take place on Thursday July 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hialeah Park Racing & Casino.
