Best Dentist/Dental Office
Dental Associates of Boca
5295 Town Center Rd Suite 200
2404 Wilton Drive
Going to the dentist can be a pleasant experience – ask anyone who’s been a patient at Dental Associates of Boca. “It’s our mission to provide a better dental experience to every patient,” said Michael Costabile, DMD. “We do that by treating each person who walks through our doors like family, because that’s what they are to us. We love this community and we love helping our neighbors. From state-of-the-art dental care to a listening ear, we are here for everyone.”
Patients are quick to remark about the friendly atmosphere and the exceptional level of professionalism at both the Wilton Manors and Boca Raton offices.
“My team and I are truly humbled by being voted as your favorite dental office,” Dr. Costabile said. “It’s our goal to provide the best care possible, in an atmosphere our patients love coming back to.”
The Wilton Manors office is located at 2404 Wilton Drive. The Boca Raton office is at 5295 Town Center Road, Suite 200.
Over its decade-long existence, SMART Ride has raised over $8.5 million for AIDS service organizations.
Its founder, Glen Weinzimer, was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS over 20 years ago and he’s amazed that both he and SMART Ride are still going. “I was one of those people who wasn’t supposed to live 10 days.” But since he’s still living, Weinzimer has vowed to keep fighting his disease personally and through SMART Ride.
Usually held every November, but postponed this year because of the impact of Hurricane Irma, SMART Ride is a two-day, 165-mile bicycle ride from Miami to Key West. Those who volunteer to ride raise money by themselves or as part of a team. The ride will now take place January 19 and 20.
It’s a route that helps make SMART Ride so popular and one of the reasons it won “Best Fundraiser” this year.
“I'm all about athletic events especially when 100 percent of the funds raised in this ride go back to help organizations working with HIV impacted folks. Plus, the warm weather and crystal blue Caribbean waters in the Florida Keys makes it unforgettable. A definite must for all cyclists, and a bucket list item for everyone else,” David Ardelean said.
Best Hot Dog
Hot Dog Heaven – Authentic Chicago Hot Dogs
101 E. Sunrise Boulevard
This small, easily overlooked, fast food restaurant has been serving Chicago Style Hot Dogs for decades.
It certainly knows how to make them: “At Hot Dog Heaven, we start with a pure beef Vienna hot dog, made with only the freshest, leanest domestic beef, mixed with a secret blend of spices and then hardwood hickory smoked. The hot dog is nestled in a steamed poppy seed bun and covered with a wonderful combination of yellow mustard, bright green relish, fresh chopped onion, juicy red tomato wedges, a crisp half sour pickle spear, a dash of celery salt, and a couple of spicy sport peppers for a little extra zest. This unique hot dog creation with a ‘salad on the top’ and its memorable interplay of hot and cold, crisp and soft, sharp and smooth, is America’s original fast food and a true Chicago Institution.”
Though this “dumpy little joint” is only open six days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., people come from all over just to stuff their faces with those delicious dogs. Those who don’t like all those toppings may order a plain frankfurter, but you can get those anywhere.

When it comes to being a realtor, Jim Cunningham likes the challenge of property changing hands.
“I like the challenge of pulling all the pieces together and ultimately making all parties happy; the buyer, seller, title companies, lenders, the other agents, everybody involved.” The winner of “Best Realtor,” Cunningham has been a realtor for eight years and recently moved to the new RE/MAX office in Wilton Manors. His area of focus is Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, Oakland Park, Pompano Beach, the beach area, and the rest of the surrounding greater Fort Lauderdale community.
Cunningham says he’s surprised and blown away by being picked “Best Realtor” but chalked up the win to the way he approaches his job. “It’s probably because I’m always available. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll get the answer quickly. I’m very personal and people-oriented and I get the job done.”
As for who makes the best kind of client, Cunningham says it’s the one who knows as much as possible. “I think the best clients are the most educated clients who use all the outside tools available.”
