Deadpool is a canonically pansexual character in the Marvel universe, and the actor who plays him is looking to show that off and more.

A bisexual fan at San Diego Comic Con asked “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds during a panel if future ‘Deadpool’ movies would have more LGBT characters.

“I love that you identify with that,” Reynolds replied. “I certainly think that this universe… needs to represent and reflect the real world in very real ways, so yeah.”

He went further to say he wants to take advantage of the freedom the ‘Deadpool’ films have by showing more LGBT representation — both with more queer characters and with his own character’s sexuality.

“The great thing about Deadpool is that we’re allowed to do things that other superhero movies don’t necessarily do, and that is probably one of them,” Reynolds said. “So it’s something I would love to see more of, certainly through Wade, certainly through this universe because we’re building it out still, and we have a lot of tools in the shed that we get to play with.”

Previously, Reynolds stated he wanted his character to have boyfriend in the sequel, according to Variety.

“What love is to Deadpool may not be what love is to Batman or someone else,” he explained. “I think that could be played up more. He’s an outsider in every way, shape, and form.”
