In actress Chloë Grace Moretz’s new film, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, the titular female character gets caught having sex with the school prom queen, leading to her right-wing aunt and uncle to send her to a gay conversion therapy camp. The movie won this year’s Sundance Film Festival grand jury prize, PinkNews reports.

At the film’s premiere, Moretz railed against President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and their anti-gay agenda.

“The (Trump) administration actually completely believes in conversion therapy,” she told international news agency AFP. “Mike Pence tried to get it state-funded when he was Senator, so it is a very real problem.”

In gay conversion therapy, unqualified doctors use debunked methods to try and force a gay person to become sexually attracted to the opposite sex. One study found that 20,000 LGBT teens in the U.S. have been forced into conversion therapy.

Nine states and Washington, D.C. have banned the dubious practice, as have Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
