David Garcia-Gonzalez is an expert in the voice business. With more than 15 years of work as a translator and Spanish speaking voice over talent in London, Garcia-Gonzalez knows how to attract a client base and has international brands such as Warner Brothers, Viacom and the BBC on his roster.
Garcia-Gonzalez, 35, a gay man, owns GoLocalise.com
“Despite the stranglehold the competition has on the localization market, I am a person who never takes no for an answer,” Garcia-Gonzalez said. “My dream was to run my own company in a business I am passionate about.”
And he’s doing just that by adapting content to foreign markets. GoLocalise is a voice over company and translation service with global reach. The company, Garcia-Gonzalez said, offers a full range of localization services under one roof and strives to challenge the larger players.
Think the Old Testament version of David taking on the Giant, Goliath.
“GoLocalise has punched above its weight and attracted a client base of 400,” said Garcia-Gonzalez.
For his business acumen, Garcia-Gonzalez was awarded National Entrepreneur of the Month of May 2015 by the London based Entrepreneurs’ Circle. GoLocalise has been operating in London since 2008 and during that time, Garcia-Gonzalez’s company has built a network of more than 1,100 translators, subtitlers and voice over talents working in 80 languages.
“I believe it is very important to surround myself with inspiring people,” Garcia-Gonzalez said.
And efficiency, he believes, is one important factor in helping GoLocalise expand operations overseas.
“Our weaponry includes a commitment to quality, personal service, ingenuity and flexibility,” Garcia-Gonzalez said. “While the giants may be able to keep prices low because of the volumes of work they deal with, they tend to be slow moving, inflexible and complacent.”
Garcia-Gonzalez grew up on the shores of the Biscay Bay, in Gijon, a city in the autonomous community of Asturias in Spain. He travels globally to recruit talent and assist clients in achieving their goals.
“Now that I have firmly established GoLocalise in London as a leading localization company with a reputation for quality in the international market, I have ambitious plans,” he said.
