This past Sunday I enjoyed watching a large group of gay black men playing volleyball at Hagen Park in Wilton Manors. It reinforced that my wonderful Island City is extending its broadening its bridges and continuing to be a more welcoming safe space for all people. The recent tragedy in Ferguson, Missouri has helped the nation be reminded of racial inequality. As an LGBTQ community advocating diversity, we are hopefully engaging in dialogue to learn what we can do to help eradication racism and other forms of discrimination.
