The Dolphin Democrats’ Membership Committee will host an “Active & Engaged Bottomless Brunch” for young LGBT Democrats and their friends on Sunday, February 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Dolphins’ Brunch will be held at the popular Sea & Olive Restaurant, located at 2390 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors.
According to Membership Committee Chair Alfredo Olvera, “the goal of this event is to engage younger voters in this election year by having some of the candidates who are running for office in 2018 tell their story of why they decided to run for office.” In addition to a delicious brunch, and “all you can drink” mimosas, participants will hear from young LGBT or Allied politicians running for public office. Among the confirmed speakers (schedule permitting) are R. David Walker, candidate for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture; Emma Collum, candidate for State House Representative District 93; Justin Flippen, candidate for Mayor of Wilton Manors; Stephanie Myers, candidate for State House Representative District 93; Chad Maxey, Co-Director of New Leaders Council of Broward County; and Jane Bolin, candidate for Oakland Park City Commissioner.
Tickets for the Dolphins’ “Active & Engaged Bottomless Brunch” are $45 per person, and seating is limited. Proceeds of the Brunch will benefit the Dolphins’ GOTV (Get Out The Vote) efforts. For ticket information, visit www.dolphindems.org/active-engaged-brunch.
