(OF) It was a big weekend for Michael Bisping who stole the title of UFC champ when he shocked fans with a surprising first-round knockout against opponent Luke Rockhold at UFC 199. As he rode the wave of success during the post-fight interview he muttered a few words that sent people into frenzy.

It started as a classic case of being a sore loser as Rockhold refused to congratulate Bisping on his quick win, which led to Bisping walking away with a shiny new belt and the title of middleweight champion. Typically, this is when the opponents would publicly congratulate and thank one another, putting on a good face for the sport and the organization. This time, however, both Bisping and Rockhold took it as an opportunity to open up the library and read each other.

As they sat at the table and threw a few more jabs the pair started to grow agitated. As Rickhold left the room, Bisping didn’t retract and continued to throw slurs his way including the word ‘faggot.’

After making the slur, Bisping quickly caught himself, saying “Oh, I shouldn’t have said that.”

Now, before you naysayers start attacking those that are offended by his words, remember that many young queers watch these fights at their local Buffalo Wild Wings. We have to hold these men responsible for spraying hateful, bigoted slurs no matter how heated they get.

Bisping has yet to apologize.
