Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony-winning Hollywood legend Liza Minnelli has taken her support for the LGBT community to the next level by posing for the NOH8 Campaign in an effort to bring marriage equality to California.
“Here's what I believe...no shame, no blame, no guilt,” Minnelli said in an email statement after her photo was recently unveiled. “Be happy. And be who you are. I love you.”
The campaign is the main form of lobbying by a charitable group under the same name. It was started soon after Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state’s constitution to ban gay marriage. The law is currently being challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court and a decision will be issued this June.
For the photo shoot, celebrities and activists pose with their mouths taped shut and "NOH8" painted on their faces.
Other powerful women who have taken part in it include Kathy Griffin and Jane Lynch. Sergio N. Candido
