(EDGE) Despite the controversy surrounding anti-gay tweets and jokes he made in his stand up, which came to light when it was announced he was set to host the 2019 Oscars, Kevin Hart has found a new role.
Deadline is reporting Lionsgate and Hasbro are planning a live-action film based on the incredibly popular board game Monopoly and that Hart will star with "Ride Along" director Tim Story directing.
Hart, along with John Cheng and Carli Haney, will produce for Hart's HartBeat Productions. Though there's little known about the movie, Deadline notes a previous version of the project followed a young man from the game's modest Baltic Avenue on a journey to become rich.
It may be no surprise to some that Hart has bounced back since the Oscars controversy. His new movie "The Upside," which also stars Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman, was the number one movie at the box office last week, surpassing expectations and opening with $19.6 million in ticket sales.
